Two-week pediatrician visit today. We got an A+ in being a baby! Rowan weighed in at 6 pounds 13 ounces, up 6 ounces from the last visit. The doctor said there was nothing negative to write in his chart, everything was perfect! We don't even need to come back for a one-month visit; we can wait until the two-month checkup, unless something comes up in the meantime. Makes me feel so much better about my ability to feed him and keep him alive!
After our stellar doctor visit, we decided to try our luck at going for coffee. Baby's first Starbuck's!!!
We also had another important "first" -- on the way to get coffee, we had our first old lady tell me that the baby looked cold. For good measure, one the way home I also got "That baby is hungry" when he got fussy on the bus, and an old Chinese woman told me that, "In China, we don't let babies or mommies out for a month. But things are different here."
Thank you, well-meaning old ladies. Hopefully, someday you'll provide a perfect story for a http://www.thatbabylookscold.com/ submission.
